This year sees Britain’s ‘Travel Bulletin‘ celebrating 20 Years of Star Awards! To mark this special anniversary, many new awards are being introduced and a brand new venue for the prestigious awards gala dinner, London’s 5 Star Langham Hotel has been chosen.

The Travel Bulletin Star Awards is the UK travel trade’s most prestigious awards programme rewarding every sector of the tourism industry. They serve to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence by acknowledging those suppliers that have flourished over the last 12 months and have provided the best products and services possible to UK travel agents.

This year the Seychelles has been voted as a finalist in the Travel Bulletin Star Awards 2016 in the Star Country/Destination for Luxury Holidays category alongside Barbados, Dubai, Maldives, Mauritius and St Lucia.

The voting, open exclusively to UK high street multiple, independent, online and home based travel agents, took place over a 6 week period from 29th April to 3rd June 2016. All participating travel agents were invited to champion those companies they consider to be the very best by voting for them in a range of industry categories, so no nominations or registrations are required by suppliers, so this always was and continues to be a completely fair and open vote.

On Friday 24th June, a shortlist of companies with the most votes in each category was announced on the Travel Bulletin website and all finalists are notified in writing.

The outright winners, those companies that have successfully attracted the most votes, will then be revealed next Monday September 5th at London’s prestigious 5 star Langham Hotel.

The Manager for the Seychelles Tourism Board Ms. Tinaz Wadia, based in London said ‘we are delighted to have been chosen as a finalist Star Country / Destination for Luxury Holidays Category and recognised by the UK travel trade. It is an honour to have been selected as a finalist amongst other prestigious destinations’.

Mr. Alain St.Ange, the Tourism and Culture Minister of the Seychelles and Mrs. Sherin Francis, the CEO of the island’s Tourism Board were both overwhelmed with this news saying that Seychelles is today more visible than ever before and that resulted in Seychelles being relevant as a tourism destination and one with an impeccable safety label.
