It is the time of year again when corporate entities remember the less fortunate in society, the poor, orphans and the underprivileged.
Serena Hotels for several years now has opted to forgo the regular Christmas presents given to their corporate clientele and instead invited them to be part of an initiative called ‘Light up a live‘ in other words put a smile on someone’s face and that someone being a child.

This year, the Kampala Serena Hotel and the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa are jointly supporting a non-profitable organization called ‘In Need Home‘.The home is located in the Namugongo slum, situated some 7 kms from the Kampala Serena Hotel, catering for a total of 103 children.

Serena’s management in Uganda invited them to celebrate an early Christmas with a fun filled day. In addition will the children hang their wishes on the Christmas trees in the main lobby of the two hotels and help to light up the tree to symbolize the start of the family festivities and the birth of the Christmas spirit.

Besides the wishes of the kids has the home another general need, a water tank, to enable them harvest a steady supply of clean water and support and donations are welcome and can be made at the reception desks of the two hotels.

As the Serena campaign unfolds today will the main aim be to generally invite guests to join the hotel in making the dreams of the children come true. Anyone can simply select a ‘wish-tag’ of their choice from the two Christmas trees at the Kampala and Lake Victoria Serena and pledge the funds that will buy a child that gift that they have been longing for all year long.
