LIGHT UP A LIFE THIS CHRISTMAS… ONCE AGAIN!
Serena Hotels within its portfolio of 24 hotels, safari lodges, camps and resorts across East Africa and Mozambique was once famous for its elaborate Christmas lights and decorations during the festive season.
However, for the third consecutive year, we have decided to dedicate our Corporate Christmas tree decorations fund towards a much brighter and beautiful cause – lighting up young lives with love through an initiative known as ‘Light Up A Life’. Working with selected children’s homes and schools from the communities that surround our African properties, we are planning a Christmas of global goodwill that glitters with the joy of giving.
Serena Hotels has asked over 1,500 children to tell us which gift would make their Christmastide glow. Their wishes, each as bright as a star, have been hung on 24 of the Serena Christmas trees as ‘wish tags’.
Participation of our guests, staff and business supporters over the years has indeed been gratifying. If you would like to join us in making young dreams come true, simply select the ‘wish tag’ of your choice and pledge the funds that will buy a child that gift that they have been longing for all year long …and Serena will do the rest.
We will also send you a very special photo – the smile on the face of ‘your’ child as Father Christmas delivers your gift of love.
This year, creativity at our various properties has been embraced further within the initiative. For example, the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge Christmas tree, as shown below, has been expertly crafted from lava rocks collected from the lava fields that surround the Lodge. These lava rocks will be returned once the festive period is over. |
