Skal Kenya Nairobi was declared the winner of the coveted “Skal Club of the year Award

As every year, the General Secretariat makes an exhaustive revision to identify the Clubs that meet the set requirements to be eligible to enter the “Skål Club of the Year” competition.

Eligible Skål Clubs worldwide are invited to vote electronically for the Club they considered to be the winner for highlighting their achievements, initiatives to recruit/retain members, promote the Skål brand, charities and sustainable activities in the 2.30 minute video.

One of the charities highlighted by the club was the St. Paul’s children centre in Bul Bul where Skal Kenya Nairobi club has been partnering with for 10years . The club has been instrumental in mentoring and giving financial and social support to the children.

This year they partnered to plant trees at the home in an ongoing activity that President Liz Tapawa undertook to help minimize the unfavorable effects of climate change while at the same time enhancing awareness about nature to the children.

The Award ceremony was held in Spain Malaga during the recently concluded 2023 World Skål Congress.

The outgoing Skal World President Juan I. Steta presented the club with the Perpetual Michael O’Flynn trophy and the club will also get a free Double Congress registration in First Class for the 2024 Skål World Congress in Izmir / Turkiye.
