Lucky escape for Cessna Grand Caravan passengers as take off fails

10 passengers plus one pilot on board a Cessna Grand Caravan had a lucky escape after their aircraft failed to take off at Lichota Airstrip in Migori earlier today.

The C208B, registered in Kenya as 5Y-ZBW, MSN 208B0409, owned and operated by Boskovic Air Charters, first entered service in 1995.

According to eye witnesses did the aicraft attempt to take off but seemingly lost control and swerved off the runway, coming to a halt in the bush.

An air accident investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the accident.
