#ICAO’S #ICAN2018 MEETING ANNOUNCED FOR KENYA

(Posted 21st December 2017)

The 11th International Civil Aviation Organization’s ICAN event, short for ICAO Civil Aviation Negotiations, will be held in Kenya at a date and venue to be announced in due course.
The decision was taken at the end of the just ended 10th such event, which took place in Sri Lanka.
During the Sri Lanka conference were over 400 new bilateral air services agreements signed, generally referred to as BASA’s among the attending 66 ICAO member states. According to statistics seen were 456 bilateral, regional and multilateral meetings held between the attending delegations.
This kind of event started back in 2008 and has swiftly gained popularity among member states as a global platform where delegations can meet their counterparts from across the world at one venue instead of having to travel across the globe in search of accomplishing successful air service agreement negotiations.

The Organization serves as the forum for cooperation in all fields of civil aviation among its 192 Member States.

Be sure to watch this space when dates and venue will be announced by ICAO for the Kenya meeting next year, when the Kenyan government and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority will be hosts for the event and Kenya Airways will be the partner airline for the meeting to bring delegates to Nairobi.
