December 15th has been set for the inaugural flight of Malawi Airlines from Lilongwe to Entebbe / Uganda.
The airline will initially serve the route four times a week, leaving Lilongwe on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, using a Boeing B787-700NG aircraft.
Flight ET52 will depart Lilongwe at 16:20 hrs and arrive in Entebbe at 19:45 hrs – all times local – , while the return flight ET53, will leave Entebbe at 06:15 hrs the following morning and land in Lilongwe at 07:40 hrs every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday..
The new route will ease travel between Uganda and Malawi, cutting out en-route stope and aircraft changes and reducing travel time substantially. The new service is expected to promote additional business opportunities, trade and tourism between the two countries.
ATCNews had in August reported about the airline’s plans to commence flights to Entebbe.
