Malawi Airlines intends to launch Entebbe flights

Malawi Airlines is going ahead with plans to launch direct flights to Entebbe, Uganda, as part of an East African network expansion, likely to also include Rwanda and Mozambique at a later time. It could at this time not be established if the planned flight will be operated in conjunction with stop enroute.

A foreign operator application is pending in Uganda before the Civil Aviation Authority since May this year and is as often seen handled bureaucratically rather than expeditiously.

If and when eventually approved would the new route expand connectivity for Ugandans and Malawians who until now have to travel via the hubs of other airlines to reach their destination.

The airline presently flies four times a week from Lilongwe to Nairobi and also serves dar es Salaam within the East African Community, Additionally does Malawi Airlines operate services to Johannesburg, Harare and Lusaka.

Malawi Airlines operates a mixed fleet of two Boeing B737NG and one DHC Q400.
