(Posted 02nd February 2017)

Malawian Airlines, a joint venture between the Government of Malawi and Ethiopian Airlines, is setting its sights on a route expansion when the new summer schedule becomes effective.
As of 29th of March will the airline commence flights to the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, initially four times a week, using a Boeing B737 for the service.
Also planned is an extension of the airline’s flights to Dar es Salaam to the Spice Island of Zanzibar, which, effective 05th of April, will also see frequencies increase from the present three to four a week. The aircraft used on this route will be a Bombardier Q400NG. Notably have the departure and arrival times changed as the flight now leaves Lilongwe in the late afternoon and returns the following morning.
At the same time does Malawian Airlines also launch flights to Harare, once a week via the Zambian capital Lusaka and twice a week as an extension to flights from Lilongwe to Blantyre, both routes served with Bombardier Q400NG aircraft.
