Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) in conjunction with WildlifeDirect, and Stand Up Shout Out, request you for media coverage for the Global March for Elephants and Rhinos event this Saturday, the 3rd October 2015.
The 10km walk will start at 8.00 AM from the National Museums of Kenya to KWS headquarters via Uhuru Highway and Langata road. (Please find attached route map).
Keynote speech to participants will be given at KWS headquarters by the Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Natural Resources Prof. Judi Wakhungu and representatives from Wildlife conservation NGOs.
Background
Participants will be demonstrating/walking to support Kenya’s impressive success in combating wildlife crime. The theme of the Kenyan Global March for Elephants and Rhinos is "Justice for Elephants and Rhinos". The event aims at raising awareness about the challenges facing our wildlife heritage and support government efforts to crackdown on perpetrators of wildlife crime with better law enforcement and prosecutions.
