#MarvelsOfMalindi and what the #DriftwoodClub #MyDriftwoodExperience is all about

The Summer 2018 Issue

Hello ATC Readers, how are you?

Your Summer holidays are about to begin and we are looking forward to seeing you once again.

It’s the perfect time to head to the Kenya coast, with lovely sunny days, cool evenings and warm hospitality. With our current B&B rate of just Ksh7000 per adult per night and children under 12 at only Ksh4500 per night/sharing, we’re sure you and the kids can enjoy the Term 2 school holidays without breaking the bank. Add to that 5 flights a day and fantastic fares available at the moment, we think it makes for a very affordable getaway.

We have plenty of space. Click here to contact our reservations team now or dial +254721724489 or +254734747133 and they’ll help you put your holiday together.
We know, you are thinking to yourself…
"What am I going to do while I am there?"
Fear not, we’ve got you covered…
To start off with, we’re hosting a Season Opening cocktail party.
We’ll be serving some delicious tropical cocktails
along with a few tasty treats.
From 6 – 7 pm on Wednesday 15th August
Come on down and say hi. All are welcome.
Then, we have sport, on all 10 Supersport channels. There is Tennis, Golf, Formula 1, England vs India test cricket, Rugby and, if you have not yet had enough, there is even more Football. We love it all and you are welcome to come on down, switch on the TV and take in the action…blow by blow.
If you would prefer to put down the digital device and step away from the TV, we can certainly offer you some good ‘old-fashioned’ chill-axing options…
Why not spend a few hours on our very own Big Mama dhow. She is finally back from Lamu, getting a much needed maintenance check and overhaul. You have the choice of a day trip out to Mayungu for snorkeling, swimming and picnic or a shorter cruise around the bay to enjoy the water, the sights and the company. It’s popular, so ask in at reception if you are interested.
*Marine Park fees are not included in the Ksh2500 per person charge.
Or you can grab a book from our library, order a coffee and set yourself up on a day bed next to the pool.

And, if all of that is too much, then why not take a long walk on the beach. I like to walk first thing in the morning (tide dependent), when the world is quiet, the water is still and the sun is just peeping in over the horizon.

Taking it up a notch or 5, why not try some kite surfing. The wind is blowing from the South East at the moment giving you just the right amount of lift for some good air moves. Some of our regular surfing crew have also started to filter back and on most mornings you will find at least one person paddling out to catch just one more set or poised waiting for just the right lift.
Our friends in the fishing community have also begun their 2018/2019 season. Their boats have had their annual MOT and are now back in the water. The season has started off well with both Marlin and Sailfish being caught by a few early-bird fishermen. If fishing is not for you, they also offer shorter Whale watching excursions from now until early October. If you are interested, let us know and we’ll put you in touch with the various skippers that offer world-class fishing at affordable prices.
Our Conference Centre is available all year round. We provide a distraction free environment where your delegates can concentrate on your message. Whether you’re organising a training session, an NGO meeting, a marketing focus group or a company conference, when you choose us as your venue, you are in good hands.
Need more information? Click here to contact our conference reservation team or dial +254721724489 or +254734747133

And to add my own observations, the Malindi Golf Club does offer
guest membership, one can even play tennis there at a very nominal
fee and golf lessons can be arranged too … #JustSaying #LotsToDoInMalindi
