‘Mavuno Yetu’ thrills hundreds of ATA Congress delegates and guests at Lake Victoria Serena Resort

MAVUMO YETU’ CULTURAL SHOW AT THE LAKE VICTORIA SERENA RESORT CONCLUDES THE 39TH ATA WORLD CONGRESS

(Posted 16th November 2014)

The Grand Finale of the 39th Africa Travel Association’s World Congress could have chosen no better venue than the Lake Victoria Serena Resort, which is where all the delegates and most of the guests invited to this event headed after another day of first class presentations and panel discussions.

Serena laid on a cultural and fashion show for the guests from across Africa and North America and anyone who missed it, this correspondent included, has only oneself to blame.

Thankfully did Ms. Rosemary Mugambi, Director of Sales and Marketing for Serena Hotels, step up and shared her impressions and some pictures of the show, which brought the official part of #ATAUganda to the deserved thrilling conclusion.

Last night was an amazing evening – Mavumo Yetu is evolving into a showcase of the diverse richness of East Africa, the food – the buffet spread of culinary delights from Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania span almost one length of the Coliseum, and the entertainment – from the energetic and spirited performances by a traditional Ugandan troupe to the ever graceful Rwandese dancers and great performance by the Afrigo Band …. and by a popular Ugandan singer …. who got the crowd singing along with her. And more – some beautiful fashion on the catwalk, designs by 3 young upcoming and talented designers from Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda and our beauty queens too – Miss Uganda who is passionate about farming, Miss Tanzania extolling the natural wonders of her country and the gracious Miss Rwanda.

It was a truly East African experience so well put together by the Lake Victoria Serena Resort team with some assistance from chefs from other Serena properties in the region, and in partnership with RwandAir, arapapa, Events Warehouse, Sanyu FM and DStv Multichoice.
I am already looking forward to 2015 edition! It can only get better.
