KENYA AIRWAYS INTRODUCES WANJIKU MUGO AS NEW HEAD OF CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

(Posted 18th November 2014)

Kenya Airways yesterday confirmed the appointment of Ms. Wanjiku Mugo as the airline’s new Corporate Communications Manager.

A graduate of Cardiff University where she attained a Master’s Degree in Journalism, she started her professional career at the Nation Media Group as a reporter, before moving on to the Capital Group as a business journalist / editor.

She then joined the corporate world with her first assignment in the East African Breweries corporate communications department before, after 4 years working for Diageo’s East Africa operation, moving on to Tetra Pak to take on the role of Communications Manager.

While new to the airline industry she brings with her all the required credentials a corporate communications and branding expert requires and will no doubt add great value to Kenya Airways in refreshing and intensifying media contacts and pro-actively engaging with the local, regional and international media houses as well as a segment of growing importance, the social media and blogging tsars.

Says Wanjiku on her LinkedIn professional page about how she sees her role at The Pride of Africa: ‘To develop, monitor and measure strategic communications to employees, investors, customers and the media. Play a key role in activating, implementing and monitoring of key messages that keep Kenya Airways delighting its stakeholders’.

From the eTN team and this correspondent in particular it is a very warm welcome to Wanjiku and looking forward to many years of a close partnership in telling the world about news coming out of the airline’s Embakasi head office.
