JAMBOJET UPS FLIGHTS ON ROUTE TO ELDORET
(Posted 15th October 2015)
Kenya’s only proper low cost carrier, Jambojet, has yesterday confirmed that they will increase their flights from Nairobi to Eldoret to 20 per week, up from the present 13. The move will give Eldoret a three times a day connection, operated by one of the two Bombardier Q400NextGen aircraft the airline has leased, except for Sunday when only two flights will be on offer.
According to figures obtained did passenger numbers flown by Jambojet to Eldoret this year rise to approximately 130.000, up from 79.000 last year over the same period of time. This translated to a 15 percent growth for Eldoret’s airport, with Kisumu in second place with a 9.9 percent increase while JKIA and Mombasa saw less arrivals due to a drop in international tourists coming to Kenya.
The added flights are available with immediate effect. Jambojet also operates a Bombardier Q400 on the routes to Kisumu, Lamu, Malindi and Ukunda while the Boeing B737-300’s are deployed on the milk run route between Nairobi and Mombasa.
