Travelers headed to Africa and more specifically those planning a visit to Mozambique, one of the continents fast rising tourism destinations, will no doubt be happy to hear about Jovago’s expansion into that country.

Already are over 100 hotels and resorts signed up and available for online bookings via www.jovago.com within just days of launching a ‘recruitment drive’ in the country.

The entry marks part of the growth projections for the company in 2015 which includes the opening of six new offices across the continent, Kampala / Uganda being the most recent addition.

Mozambique’s tourism industry is experiencing major growth in recent years. From being a non-existent sector after the post-independence war in the early 1990’s it set unprecedented record of world’s highest growth rate at 37% in 2005. Today, the industry attracts more foreign investment than any of the other sectors and already accounts for about 6.0% of total employment in the country with this percentage rising fast. Investments in aviation infrastructure and the opening up of space for private airlines, combined with a positive disposition towards facilitating foreign investment have made the tourism industry a star performer. The country’s Indian Ocean beaches facing the Madagascar channel have seen a number of highly fancied and top rated resorts open its doors and the safari sector too is now beginning to catch up with other countries offering a wildlife experience.

This is forecast to rise by 4.7 in 2015 and further projected to register a steady 6.5% growth pa throughout the decade.
