Mozambique conducts census of elephants and other large mammals

The National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC) and partners are carrying out the National Census of Elephants and Large Mammals throughout the country between September 20 and October 30, 2025. The survey will cover areas with recent records of elephants and other large mammals, both inside and outside the country’s conservation areas.
