Mystery still shrouds the case of an elderly tourist who died in the Kruger National Park of South Africa. While reports are saying she was trampled by elephants as she took a stroll outside her camp. People question how the deceased simply walked out of her hotel gates during the night and ventures into the bushes, where she was later discovered dead.

On May 10, 2025, elderly tourist Petronella Margaretha Viljoen, known as Ronel Blaauw Viljoen, tragically lost her life after an encounter with elephants at Sirheni Bushveld Camp in Kruger National Park. The elderly woman trampled to death by elephants in the Kruger National Park over the weekend has been identified as a Pretoria East resident.
