ZIMBABWE’S GONAREZHOU NATIONAL PARK FINALLY GETS A BRIDGE

Zimbabwe’s Gonarezhou National Park is the country’s second largest national park, after Hwange National Park.
It forms part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, an ecosystem linking Gonarezhou with the Kruger National Park in South Africa and the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique between which the animals can move freely.
Cut into two sections by the Runde river which during the rainy season often divides the two sections by as much as half mile. This makes it hard to explore the entire park especially during the rain season.
The new bridge will allow for easy access to all areas of the park around the year.
Financing support came from the Frankfurt Zoological Society and The Oak Foundation under the auspices of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.
