KENYA AIRWAYS SET TO LAUNCH NEW STATE OF THE ART CARGO CENTRE

Kenya Airways Cargo will open a new state of the art Express Centre to handle express shipments in the fast growing e-commerce industry. The Express Center targets major courier and e-commerce players globally and is aimed at improving KQ Cargo revenue as part of Operation Pride.
The Express Centre will be a one stop shop for airlines and freight forwarders that will enhance efficiency in E-commerce logistics, electronic customs clearance, and cargo handling services, mail handling and airport ground handling service.
‘Our business partners will benefit from express service, meaning: Reduced lead time from acceptance to delivery as well as positioning JKIA airport as the preferred transit hub to and from Africa‘ said the Express Courier Manager Daniel Salaton before adding: ‘It is a one stop shop and all parties are under one roof, thereby creating efficiency in the clearing process. The new center will provide us with an opportunity to offer a wide range of specialized products, tailor made to meet the client’s needs such as express diplomatic packages, pharmaceuticals, valuables handling which we hope will attract clients to KQ‘.
This project is expected to increase the KQ cargo revenue by more than 200 Million Kenya Shillings annually. The center will commence operations from 01st of February next year at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport’s cargo side.
