COASTAL AVIATION WELCOMES JULIAN EDMUNDS AS NEW CEO
(Posted 03rd November 2015)
Tanzania’s Coastal Aviation, presently exhibiting at the ongoing World Travel Market in London, has confirmed the appointment of Julian Edmunds as the company’s new Managing Director effective 01st of November after he was already overseeing the transition from the Tanganyika Flying Company over the past few months. Julian is also the Director responsible for East Africa and Aviation at ATTA, the African Travel and Tourism Association which is also present at WTM.
Alongside Julian have reportedly a number of pilots, ground staff and management of TFC migrated to Coastal, allowing the company to offer a wider range of services including two added daily departures from Arusha to the Serengeti National Park. Coastal Aviation, after an agreement with Hahn Air, can be booked worldwide under their H1 airline code in some 190 countries and territories through over 95.000 agents using Hahn Air’s technology and distribution system.
In order to enhance flights to and from Kenya, considering the present aviation impasse between the two countries vis a vis direct air access into national parks, has Coastal also strengthened their cooperation with Wilson Airport based Safarilink. This cooperation works through connections between Migori at the border between Tanzania and Kenya and the Masai Mara and between Kilimanjaro and Wilson Airport, since the Arusha Municipal Airport is still not designated as an official entry and exit point.
Coastal operates a mixed fleet of Cessna C206, Cessna C208B Grand Caravan and Pilatus aircraft, serving all key national parks and the Tanzanian Indian Ocean islands of Pemba and Unguja, commonly referred to as Zanzibar but also Mafia Island.
