AIR SEYCHELLES ANNOUNCES NEW DESTINATIONS FOR 2017

Air Seychelles has announced that come 2017 some major changes will take place vis a vis destinations and frequencies to key tourism source markets.
As a second Airbus A330-200 is expected to join the fleet in March 2017 to cater for the additional services will flights to Paris be upped from three to four effective 28th of March 2017.
Duesseldorf in Germany has been named as a new European destination to be served with direct flights from Mahe, returning to the archipelago’s second largest source market after services to Frankfurt were stopped several years ago. These new flights will launch on the 30th of March next year.
Meanwhile will flights to South Africa also increase with the addition of Durban which will receive two weekly flights from 30th of March using an Airbus A320.
Johannesburg will see the number of flights from the present four a week raised to five a week, recognizing the importance of the South African market for the Seychelles. All flights to Johannesburg will from April next year be operated with Airbus A330 equipment.
Mauritius and Mumbai too have been singled out to switch from the presently used Airbus A320 to the much larger A330 for one each of the frequencies, Mumbai on Saturdays and Mauritius on Sundays.
Connectivity at Mahe between South Africa and India and from Europe to Mauritius and Madagascar has also been tweaked to make for seamless onward connections by passengers using Air Seychelles to their final destination.
Meanwhile have changes on the Board of Air Seychelles been announced by State House Victoria. In line with the new policy set by President Danny Rollen Faure has Minister Joel Morgan stepped down as Chairman of the Board while Mr. Jean Weeling who was already a board member was appointed as new Chair. His seat on the board was filled as per President Faure’s directive by Mr. John Esther.
