Another wave of lockdowns across Europe has thrown all the little strips of optimism we gained through the summer out of the window. However, without being insensitive, we always prefer to focus on controlling the controllables. A Report From The BER Opening

Berlin Brandenburg’s Second Runway Opens With Qatar Airways Arrival

Brandenburg’s new southern runway was officially commissioned today. Following the opening, it was only natural that one airline would need to be the first to use the long landing strip. At 09:50, A Qatar Airways Airbus A350-900 registered as A7-AMF arrived on the runway from the east. According to data from FlightRadar24.com, the aircraft used around half of the runway to land.

Airports and Airlines Respond to New Lockdowns and Travel Bans

Responding to the announcement of a ban on international leisure travel as part of new lockdown measures in the UK, Henry Smith, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Future of Aviation, said: “The COVID-19 announcement on international travel restrictions is another serious blow to the already beleaguered aviation, travel and tourism industries, its employees and the communities who rely on them.”
