NEW MAP AND GUIDE OF SEYCHELLES NOW AVAILABLE ON THE ISLANDS

DISCOVER Publications will soon launch the Essential Seychelles Tourist Map & Guide with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Seychelles Tourism Board.
The publication has set out to expand on what is currently offered to the tourism market, by integrating both map and guide of the islands into one conveniently small and beautifully polished pocket book. Most importantly the Map & Guide is free for all to pick up.
‘We wanted to bring a fresh approach to the existing marketing collateral available and create something which would really enhance the experience of Seychelles for the tourists. We wanted this Map & Guide to be current and relevant, with up to date recommendations on places to eat and things to do. Everything from the style of the writing to the article layouts to the colour scheme was selected with the greatest precision and care, tailored to a vibrant and adventurous audience‘ said the Managing Director of DISCOVER Publications Vee Mari Power.
The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority has also shown their support for the initiative by allocating space within the International Airport for the colourful map dispense units which will be present at the Immigration, baggage claim and the arrival entrance.
The 128-page guide reads like a magazine with cultural articles on local artists, available sports and hobbies and innovative local businesses. As well as the classic feature of ‘top-10-things-to-do’, the guide also includes some useful fish, bird and fruit guides to help the reader familiarise with their surroundings and learn a little more about the country they are visiting. There is even a detailed guide to Eden Island and the flourishing shopping plaza listing popular boutiques and restaurants.
The reversible map which folds out next to the guide and features Mahe on one side, with detailed zoom ins of Eden Island, Beau Vallon and Victoria, the three most densely populated business areas on the island, and Praslin and La Digue on the flipside is thoughtfully designed to be as easy to navigate as possible. Encouraging the use of good driving roads and the best kept hiking trails.
A fully interactive website with access to the map & guide will be launched along-side the release of the publication.
