New Year’s surprise for Frankfurt passengers on Emirates

EMIRATES ANNOUNCES DOUBLE DAILY AIRBUS A380 FLIGHTS TO FRANKFURT COME NEW YEAR

(Posted 26th August 2015)

Travelers from Emirates’ East Africa destinations Entebbe, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, destined for Frankfurt, can from New Year’s Day 2016 look forward to both daily flights being operated on the award winning airline’s giant Airbus A380.

The move will add over 1.150 extra seats on the route, confirming sustained demand for travel to Germany commercial hub. It was only 11 months ago when Emirates upgraded the first of their two daily flights from the Boeing B777-200 to the larger Airbus A380 and ongoing deliveries of this aircraft type have made it possible to begin operating both daily flights with the larger plane.

Travelers from Eastern Africa, where the airline serves Nairobi and Dar es Salaam double daily with a Boeing B777, and Entebbe which is served once a day also with the B777, have the widest number of choices to fly on the Airbus A380 out of Dubai to destinations around the world with Emirates now operating nearly 70 of the largest passenger aircraft in the sky. Emirates is also the only Gulf airline operating wide body aircraft to Eastern Africa, a fact not lost on their growing number of passengers from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

While the two other main Gulf carriers, Qatar Airways and Etihad also have the A380 on their fleet is the range of their destinations served with this aircraft type more limited due to the fleet size.

Added a regular source close to the airline’s offices in Kampala: ‘We endeavor to provide the best possible services. Our passengers fly on wide body aircraft from wherever they board to wherever travel. Dubai International Airport is ranked among the best in the world. Our lounges there are very highly rated and the Duty Free shopping in Dubai is second to none. Our Dubai Summer Surprise packages allow passengers to stop over in Dubai on the way home and get great discounts, in shops but also for entrance fees to see the attractions. Most important however, we have a separate terminal for Airbus A380 operations out of Dubai and our passengers just love being treated in such a special way’. Can’t argue with that concludes this correspondent.
