SERENGETI EXPLORER CAMP JOINS NEWMARK STABLE
(Posted 06th March 2018)
Newmark Hotels will from April this year take over ownership and management of the Serengeti Explorer Camp, expanding their reach from hitherto South Africa and Zanzibar to mainland Tanzania and one of the world’s most iconic national parks.
The Explorer Camp is known for shifting locations twice a year to give their clientele the best of the best of the annual wildebeest migration. Between mid December to the end of March is the camp located in the Ndutu part of the Serengeti right at the boundary to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area while from the 01st of June until the end of October it moves to the Lobo part of the park.
Every April and May and from beginning of November to mid December is the camp closed to facilitate the relocation.
The 12 extra large tents of the Explorer Camp include two family tents which sleep two adults and two children comfortably. Serengeti Explorer Camp is sold on a partial all inclusive meal plan basis where all meals, soft drinks, local beers and house wine are included in the price.
However, spirits, premium wine, champagne and other drinks are available at an additional cost.
Neil Markovitz, CEO and founder of Newmark Hotels, confirmed the transaction and called the addition of the Explorer Camp a milestone for the company, indicating that perhaps further acquisitions and additional countries in Africa may come online in the future.
