News from the Virunga National Park

(Posted 01st July 2025)

Four female eastern lowland gorillas rescued from the illegal wildlife trade have been successfully reintroduced to the wild in Virunga National Park.

We’re pleased to introduce new handcrafted items from Virunga’s Women’s Workshop. These include kitchen aprons and oven mitts, available in brown or a blue and pink pattern, as well as durable, long-lasting tote bags in white and blue, or red and blue.

Published to mark the Park’s centennial, this book — written by over 40 experts — traces Virunga’s rich history, its defenders, and its role in promoting peace and development in a region shaped by conflict.\
