News updates from the #MountKenyaTrust

2018 is going to be an exciting year with several events around the corner – the Tropic Air 10to4 (February) and the all-new Safarilink Mount Kenya Festival(March)! The festival is about celebrating our mountain with proceeds to the Trust and the KWS Mountain Rescue Team. You’ll find out more below.

Despite a difficult start to the year with the continued drought and poor March/April rains, we have succeeded in building on all of our projects. We have created a more robust capacity for our patrol teams and forest restoration projects – all of which we have expanded. As well as making huge improvements to ALL of our patrol bases this year and building two new ones, we have also been able to replace worn out sleeping bags and tents for camping patrols and provide the teams with camelbaks, backpacks, rechargeable batteries, charging units and torches.

We’re excited about the new partnerships we have formed and proud of our continued strong collaboration with the Government Agencies. We work are ever grateful for our long-term partnerships that have enabled us to build our impact year on year.

With gratitude from our Board of Directors and the whole Mount Kenya Trust team, we wish you a Happy New Year!
