Lions Return to Westgate’s Conservation Area
Lions have returned to the Conservation Area in Westgate Conservancy for the first time in 2 years. This highlights the importance of the area as a safe refuge for lions and other wildlife. The local community set aside this space for wildlife when the Conservancy was established, which can reduce human-carnivore conflict – which is an outcome Ewaso Lions strives towards through our work. Seeing Rhinos and Lions for the First Time
Last month, we held a Lion Kids Camp for 32 Kenyan students on Solio Ranch in Laikipia. The kids went on game drives, learned about wildlife conservation and poaching, watched wildlife documentaries, and even rode horses. The kids got to see lions and rhinos for the first time in their lives!

Scholarships for 5 Students
Education has been an integral part of our conservation programs right from the beginning. Our new Conservation Education Program will streamline the education components across all our projects. We have hired a new Education Officer, Kalastar Lekalaille, to oversee it. Kalastar recently visited the 5 students currently receiving an Ewaso Lions Scholarship. Read on to meet these impressive young Kenyans.
