#NIGERIAAIR LAUNCHED IN LONDON ON THE SIDELINES OF THE FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW
(Posted 18th July 2018)
‘Bringing Nigeria Closer To The World‘ is the tagline for the new national airline of Nigeria, which was launched just three hours ago at the Farnborough Air Show by Nigeria’s State Minister for Aviation Hadi Sirika.
The new airline, with no planes as yet, nor an Air Service Licence or an Air Operator Certificate at this time, will according to the Minister’s ambitious statement fly to 81 domestic, regional, African and international destinations.
Well, for now have aviation pundits already suggested that the airline gets their licences and permits in order, obtains landing and traffic rights and build up a fleet of state of the art aircraft, and when that is done best wishes for Happy Landings will follow.
Other sources were swift to suggest that negotiations were taking place with both Airbus and Boeing for narrow and wide body aircraft and that the airline, as per present planning, would take to the skies on or about the 19th of December.
In a related development did Ethiopian Airlines’ CEO Tewolde GebreMariam confirm that talks between the Nigerian government and Ethiopian were held to explore the option if Ethiopian could come on board and through their experience and aviation acumen make the new venture work.

Thanks for this Wolfgang. But why do you think they launched without having done hte necessary things first like: getting a Licence, and getting planes?
