Nigerian government’s sack, last Wednesday, of Sally Mbanefo, Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), has aligned with what may be rightly classed as an ongoing change of guards in the tourism industry across Africa, as several countries have already changed the leaderships of their various tourism boards.
South Africa, Ghana, Kenya have all changed CEOs of their respective tourism boards. The swift move of the Federal Government of Nigeria in sacking the under-performing Mrs. Sally Uwechue Mbanefo, Director General/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), brought to an end 3 years of wasted resources that evidently saw the worst decline in pedigree, performance, relevance, and eventual demise of tourism ministry in Nigeria. |
