When news broke that Medview of Nigeria had halted operations for lack of aircraft was blame swiftly laid on the doorstep of the company’s top management for lack of foresight and lack of planning.

It appears that all of the airline’s aircraft are undergoing heavy maintenance at the same time, something aviation pundits claim could have been planned differently, besides making up for such eventualities by leasing aircraft to maintain operations.

ATCNews had previously reported about Medview, when the airline made a profit of over 5 million US Dollars in 2017 but the fortunes of the company reversed sharply when for the financial year 2018 they had to post a whopping 10 billion Naira loss.

While the company’s management is trying to downplay both situations are other reports emerging that wages and statutory payments to Nigerian authorities such as NCAA are in default too.

As of now it is anyone’s guess if the airline can take back to the skies again, more so as the Nigerian regulators appear unhappy with the explanations given as well as the fact that the airline presently has not a single aircraft in operation.
