#UGANDA’S TOURISM SECTOR EXPECTS BOOST FROM ‘SOURCE OF THE NILE CULTURAL TOURISM FETE‘

#Jinja, also known as East Africa’s Adventure Capital, will be hosting the upcoming Source of the Nile Cultural Festival from this Friday to Sunday. Big crowds are expected to travel to Jinja and hotels, lodges and resorts have indicated bumper bookings for the duration of the fete.
The main activities will centre around the Source of the Nile Gardens, bringing renewed focus on the actual source of the River Nile, the longest in the world, which is located in Jinja contrary to others laying claim to that.
This festival follows hot on the heel of the equally successful Nyege Nyege Festival, which was also held in Jinja and brought thousands of visitors to the town.
The Uganda Tourism Board has thrown its weight behind these emerging festivals across the country to promote an increase in domestic travel but also to widen the scope when promoting the Pearl of Africa in foreign lands through the cultural and heritage component of the industry.
The Speaker of Uganda’s parliament, the Right Honourable Rebecca Kadaga, who hails from the Busoga Kingdom, is expected to officially open the festival while H.R.H. The Kyabazinga of Busoga, will perform the function of closing the event on Sunday afternoon.
