When the forests are logged the wildlife has nowhere to go and is either captured for the illegal wildlife trade or killed as bushmeat. This is what has happened in Indonesia, Malaysia, and is now happening throughout Equatorial Africa and India.

INDONESIA: IAR has just taken in a tiny baby orangutan less than six months old and weighing just 2kg.
Jemmi was kept tied in a cardboard box by his owners before he was reported to the Forestry Department (BKSDA). The owner claimed that he had found Jemmi alone in the forest which is highly unlikely because such a young infant would constantly be attached to his mother. Jemmi faces years of rehabilitation at IAR’s Orangutan Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo before he can be released back to the forest. https://www.facebook.com/internationalanimalrescue
