The one above should be true, but it is not. see below: If the whole of the EU can, and does, respond to a crisis this way, why not CITES? Could it be because politicians are elected, accountable and can lose their jobs if they screw up? Whereas CITES officials get the same pay and benefits, maybe even promotion, regardless of whether or not the law is broken and species disappear? Who can YOU hold accountable?
