INDONESIA: Where the wildlife trade, illegal or otherwise, is out of control.

These photos were taken by wildlife trade monitoring NGO group SCORPION last week at the Sukahaji wildlife market in Bandung, Java.

Terrified baby otter destined for an early but slow and painful death. Otters (Aonyx cinereus) are sold for IDR 350,000 or £17.50 pounds. The Otters are caught in the wild but are listed as vulnerable by the IUCN and is also listed in CITES Appendix II.
