This is MONA.
She has been held prisoner in Jakarta Zoo’s solitary confinement and punishment block of ‘cells’ for,
we estimate, at least 3500 days with no access to the sun, rain, grass, trees, or other orangutans.
Mona’s only ‘crime’ is that she is an orangutan.
The zoo reserves the worst abuse for this species.
