No reinstatement but also no hiring rules judge in Kenya Airways case

MBUGUA TOLD THERE WILL BE NO REINSTATEMENT

(Posted 06th May 2016)

The ongoing case filed by former Kenya Airways Finance Director Alex Mbugua has not seen him get the reinstatement he wanted, as the justice presiding over the case did not grant him that application.
However, the court did also prevent Kenya Airways from filling the position with a substantive new appointment, leaving the acting Finance Director in place for the time being, until judgement has been rendered.
While it is beyond doubt that the airline has made losses is Mbugua’s case based on various assertions over both responsibility as well as timing of his exit from Kenya Airways.
The rulings came in yesterday during a court session attended by both parties during with Justice Mbaru also asserted that Kenya Airways was not a government corporation and neither public nor government pressures had a role to play in this case. A final ruling from court is expected in due course and will of course be reported here when details are available.
Meanwhile is the airline continuing with the rollout of ‘Operation Pride‘, aimed at restoring profitability after several years of growing losses.
