SIX MAJOR AWARDS PUTS #ONEWORLD IN POLE POSITION
(Posted 19th December 2017)
oneworld® has received its sixth ‘best airline alliance’ award of 2017 – twice as many as its rival global airline alliances combined.
Its latest honour comes from World Travel Awards, which has named oneworld the World’s Leading Airline Alliance – for the 15th year running.
Earlier this month, oneworld was named Best Airline Alliance, for the eighth year running, by Global Traveler in its 2017 GT Tested Reader Survey – and, for the third consecutive year, oneworld was also judged Best Airline Alliance in Business Traveler North America’s 2017 Best in Business Travel Awards.
oneworld is also the current holder of three other Best Airline Alliance awards:
- FlightStats’ Airline Alliance On-Time Performance Service Award, for the fourth year running.
- Business Traveller UK’s Best Airline Alliance for the fifth year in a row.
- Trazees’ Favorite Airline Alliance, for the second time.
The main airline of interest for East African travelers as an alliance member is Qatar Airways, which flies to more places in the region than any of their partners and with the best reputation among the OneWorld Alliance – Qatar Airways has steadily maintained not just a five star ranking by Skytrax but also been repeatedly voted as world airline of the year – is the choice to fly with them, if one is looking for the best, a foregone conclusion when opting to fly via the Gulf.
Qatar Airways serves Entebbe in conjunction with Kigali daily but also flies to Nairobi, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar and had earlier in the year stated that Mombasa will come on line in 2018.
