This year, Busara Promotions premieres the Santuri Safari, a new project that focuses on the innovative role of the DJ in promoting and sharing music in East Africa.
During Sauti za Busara 2014, we’re bringing together DJs, producers, and other music industry professionals to kick-start a new movement in electronic music with a strong East Africa cultural identity. Celebrating and promoting the connection of African music to DJ culture, the Santuri Safari provides plenty of chances to get your groove on to some of the hottest DJs in the region – and the world!
What’s more, we’re inviting some of the region’s most influential creative arts professionals to work on innovative plans to strengthen the music industry, as well as top DJs and producers to collaborate on new musical projects. Festival visitors will have the chance to hear some of the results at our Sunset Sessions around Stone Town, (also to be broadcast live over the net), and at our official after-parties. Check out the website for details of locations, schedules and line-ups! |

Are you a musician, manager, promoter, festival organiser, journalist, or another type of music professional? Then Movers & Shakers is the space for you!
Sauti za Busara attracts music professionals from near and far. Movers and Shakers provides a place for them to get together, share information, exchange ideas, and network. The forum takes place each afternoon of the festival (this year from 2-4pm, location TBA) and provides the perfect opportunity for artists, managers, media and related professionals
Sessions are free and open to invited individuals. During the 11th edition, we’ll discuss how cultural operators can contribute to environmental sustainability, fundraising strategies for the arts, freedom of expression, and more. Do let us know if you have additional suggestions for themes and topics you’d like to see this year!
By invitation only: If you are a professional and wish to participate, please contact haji@busara.or.tz |
