ACCOR HOTELS’ IBIS STYLES TAKES OVER FROM TUNE HOTELS

Effective beginning of September has Accor Hotels brand ‘ibisStyles‘ taken over what used to be the Tune Inn in Nairobi’s Westlands area.
The launch marketing campaign though appeared to be rather muted as the market expected a big splash though outgoing Tune made a special offer to celebrate their 01st anniversary – they did not make it much beyond that mark of course – with rates as low as 995 Kenya Shillings per person per night in July, subject to a range of terms and conditions of course.

This correspondent stayed earlier this year at the then Tune Inn and commented on a number of areas which needed to be improved upon and the jury is still out at this time how the new brand will measure up to market expectations and in particular how to carry out various improvements such as adding wardrobes, a proper desk and chair and a luggage rack, among other elements singled out at the time. After all did then General Manager Stuart Clay in his response to a TA review then say it would help the company to assist in their ‘growth’ …
