(Posted 29th May 2017)
Carlson Rezidor’s second property, and brand for that matter, the Park Inn Westlands Nairobi, is now ‘officially‘ open after President Uhuru Kenyatta last week presided over the formal launch of the property.
The hotel, reviewed here some weeks ago during the early stages of the soft opening phase, has already gained market share with its funky cool looks appealing in particular to the younger generation of business and leisure travelers.
The opening marks The Rezidor Hotel Group’s third hotel in East Africa and their 36th in Africa with the fourth and fifth, the Park Inn Kigali and the Quorvus Collection’s Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala soon adding to the numbers.
Area Vice President of Africa & Indian Ocean for The Rezidor Hotel Group, Marc Descrozaille said on the occasion: ‘Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, has risen to become a thriving modern capital and one that is regarded as the commercial center of eastern Africa, and therefore the perfect location for our Park Inn by Radisson brand. We are very pleased to grow the Park Inn brand footprint in Kenya. Our brand focuses on convenient locations, in this case, along a highway, making it a convenient hotel for travellers going outside Nairobi using the Westlands route‘.
The hotel has five spacious meeting rooms as well as an event terrace. The ambience of the colour rich environment of the hotel, the amenities within and the innovative and state of the art technology meeting spaces, give the Park Inn a clear edge for meetings and events in this part of Nairobi. The hotel also features a fully-equipped gym and free high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the hotel.
The hotel’s all-day dining Live-Inn Restaurant provides a fresh, lively, cozy and welcoming experience to relish multicultural cuisine, incorporating the brand’s international flair with a unique African twist. The hotel also offers themed nights, barbeques and refreshing signature cocktails as guests take in the panoramic views of the city below from The Attic Rooftop Bar.
At the 2016 Africa Property Awards, Park Inn by Radisson Nairobi Westlands won the Best New Hotel Construction and Design for its eye catching tablet-shape and continuous to intrigue the public with its unique design as passer bys stand to take in the shape of the building.
Park Inn by Radisson Nairobi Westlands offers 140 rooms which are a match to the colourful impressions guests get on arrival in the lobby and the mezzanine floor.
Carlson Rezidor’s Africa & Indian Ocean portfolio now features 16,600+ rooms in operation and under development, with an additional two hotels scheduled to open in East Africa within the next quarter as previously mentioned here.
‘We are very happy to partner with a global hospitality leader like The Rezidor Hotel Group and the Park Inn by Radisson brand to provide the exceptional service it is known for. The hotel holds a lot of promise and we are sure that the guests who come here will have an experience like no other‘ added Anil Samani from AMS Property, the owners of the hotel before Carsten Wappler, the General Manager of the Park Inn Westlands concluded: ‘My team and I are both honoured and proud to add color to life to guests in Kenya. We are looking forward to delivering a fresh, energetic and vibrant hospitality experience to those we receive. We are looking forward to showcasing Park Inn’s international standard of hospitality to the world‘.
