| In a dramatic early-morning operation in Olosheti, Narok County, the Mara Elephant Project’s “Golf” ranger team successfully guided a herd of 40 elephants out of a maize farm using a thermal drone. This is after locals alerted them to an elephant infiltrating a local maize farm, where it was destroying the crops. Under the cover of darkness, they deploy the thermal drone and spot a tagged elephant named Fitz alongside his herd. With the use of firecrackers, the authorities carefully move the herd out of the farm safely with no casualties or injuries on either side. |
