Precision Air back on route to Uganda

NEW ROUTE ALLOWS UGANDANS ONCE AGAIN DIRECT FLIGHTS TO TANZANIA

(Posted 03rd July 2017)

Tanzania leading airline Precision Air Services plc. has on Saturday successfully re-launched Entebbe flights.
The inaugural flight took off from Dar Es Salaam at 7:10am heading to Enttebbe via Kilimanjaro. At 10:30 the Precision Air inaugural flight touched down in Entebbe and received the traditional fire engin salute marking the new era of Precision Air services between Tanzania and Uganda.

Commenting on the relaunch, Precision Air’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr.Hillary Mremi said, Uganda and Tanzania are now assured of direct reliable air transport through Precision Air’s flights.

Precision Air suspended flights to Entebbe in 2013 during a route rationalization process and subsequent network restructuring.

Precision is the only IATA member airline that provides direct flights between Tanzania and Uganda. It is expected that these flights will further cement economic and diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Uganda. Tanzania and Uganda have several major ongoing projects, including the construction of an oil pipeline extending from Uganda’s oilfields to Tanzania and a proposed SGR railway link using rail ferries for the last leg of the journey across Lake Victoria. Corporate executives and other businesses handling such projects are expected to take advantage of Precision Air’s direct flights between these two countries, since it reduces the travel time.

Precision Air which was established in 1993 as a private charter air transport company has grown to become a respected airline in East Africa and Africa at large. Operating from Dar es Salaam Precision Air flies to Arusha, Bukoba, Kigoma, Kilimanjaro, Musoma, Mtwara, Mwanza, Tabora, Zanzibar and Nairobi and as of last weekend also Entebbe again.

What’s the connection between Kilimanjaro and the Rwenzoris? Read more on my blog…
