Qatar Airways adds Atlanta

ATLANTA NOW A QATAR AIRWAYS DESTINATION

(Posted 07th June 2016)

Qatar Airways celebrated the launch of commercial flights to Atlanta with a one off service operated by the Airbus A380, even though the daily flights will use a Boeing B777-300ER in the airline’s award winning two class configuration, offering both business and economy class sections with the widest spaces available in commercial aviation.
The new route is thought to be a much anticipated destination after several US legacy airlines have reduced or halted flights into the Gulf region, citing unfair subsidies by Gulf governments, s notion strongly denied and rejected by the three main carriers with hubs in the Gulf region, Qatar Airways among them.
Travelers to and from East Africa can now take advantage of a one stop trip via Doha on Qatar Airways, out of Entebbe, Kigali, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Addis Ababa, Asmara, Djibouti and Khartoum, all served by Qatar Airways between several times a week to double daily flights.
Only days after the launch has the airline’s Group CEO Mr. Akbar Al Baker suggested foul play by one of the American legacy carriers, talking of obstructing QR, a story sure to be told when all the details are available and ready for publication.
