East African travelers on Qatar Airways,from Entebbe, Kigali, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, will no doubt be pleased to hear that the world’s first 5 star airline has once again captured some of the world’s most prestigious service awards, and for a good reason.
‘Best Business Class‘ and ‘Best Middle Eastern Airline‘ were handed to Qatar Airways by the ‘Business Traveler Awards‘ gala night in London last week to the delight of the airline’s representatives, against strong competition from in particular other Gulf airlines.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Mr. Akbar Al Baker said: ‘We are proud to have once again been recognised as the Best Business Class and Best Middle Eastern Airline. These awards continue to demonstrate our commitment to provide our passengers with industry leading service, a modern fleet of aircraft and innovative products to provide our passengers with the very best journey‘.Premium passengers have access to a range of luxury lounges such as the Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge in Doha, the Heathrow Premium Lounge and the DXB Premium Lounge in Dubai, all of which offer a selection of fine dining options and world-class facilities.
The awards ceremony, which has been running for over 30 years, was attended by over 300 industry leaders and the winners were voted for by readers of the international magazine.
The Best Airline Alliance was also presented to oneworld, of which Qatar Airways has been a member of since 2013, generally considered the airline leading the alliance in quality terms.
Qatar Airways more recently was also awarded three separate accolades at the 2016 Skytrax World Airline Awards held at the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom. Air travellers chose Qatar Airways as the World’s Best Business Class, Best Business Class Airline Lounge and the Best Airline Staff Service in the Middle East. The consumer-voted awards recognised the airline for its commitment to offering passengers an unrivalled travelling experience.
