(Posted 07th October 2015)
Qatar Airways has been voted ‘Best Middle Eastern Airline‘ for the tenth consecutive year at the 26th Annual TTG Travel Awards. The latest win seals a decade of success for Qatar Airways at the TTG Travel Awards, organised by one of the most respected trade magazines in the Asia Pacific.
Readers based their voting on the strength of the airline’s customer service, route network, services and also its innovation marketing and advertising programmes and initiatives.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Mr. Akbar Al Baker commented promptly when getting the news: ‘To retain this accolade for 10 consecutive years is a tremendous achievement – it speaks volumes about the commitment and quality of the entire Qatar Airways team who work tirelessly to provide unforgettable inflight experiences for our passengers. We take pride in offering our passengers best-in-class hospitality whenever they fly with us and we are delighted that our efforts have paid off‘.
Qatar Airways South East Asia South West Pacific Senior Vice President, Mr. Marwan Koleilat, accepted the award on behalf of the airline in Bangkok, Thailand where he said: ‘We would like to thank our travel partners in Asia Pacific for this recognition and for their vote of confidence and unwavering support over the past decade. In a related development has Qatar Airways announced the launch of daily flights from Doha to Sydney / Australia from March 2016, using a two class Boeing B777-300ER aircraft for the service. This means that passengers from Qatar Airways’ East Africa destinations of Entebbe, Kigali, Nairobi, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar will have an added option to reach Australia, and of course vice versa opens extra opportunities for Australians to reach the East African safari destinations.
Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 18 years of operation and today flies a modern fleet of 166 aircraft to 152 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America. At this year’s Skytrax Awards, the airline was named Airline of the Year, Best Business Class Airline Seat and Best Airline in the Middle East.
