Qatar Airways used the presence at the Arabian Travel Market, the Gulf’s premier tourism trade show held annually in Dubai, to announce the launch of a shuttle service between Doha and Dubai, bringing the daily flights to 18 between the two cities, fourteen to Dubai International DXB and four to the new Dubai World Central DWC in Jebel Ali. Additional flights to Ras Al Khaimah add yet another regional destination to the Qatar Airways network, which, important for East Africa, will shortly launch five weekly flights to Zanzibar too.
The shuttle service will ease demand for passengers for instance coming from the airline’s Eastern Africa destinations like Entebbe, Kigali, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Nairobi as the airline offers some of the most competitive rates for travelers choosing to connect at Hamad International Airport in Doha to Dubai.
Said QR’s Group CEO Akbar Al Baker when making the announcement during a media briefing at ATM 2015: ‘The Doha-Dubai Shuttle caters to the needs of bothbusinessand leisure travellers, and provides them with a more convenient and time-saving option when travelling between the two cities. We are very excited to offer our passengers this fantastic new service that shows our passengers how much we appreciate them and value their time’.
