E-LEARNING AND DIGITAL MARKETING ON 2017 TRAINING AGENDA

The Regional Tourism Organisation of Southern Africa (RETOSA) in collaboration with Flow Communications will host an E-Learning and Digital Marketing Seminar in Johannesburg from the 22nd to 24th of February, 2017.
Travel and tourism have become increasingly competitive; as a result tourists and investors alike are faced with an ever-growing range of holiday and investment destination choices.
Therefore, the ability for a destination to achieve positive recognition and enhanced awareness through client engagement is critical as this will give this particular destination a competitive edge in this crowded tourism and investment marketplace. In light of this, RETOSA has identified training and capacity building in Digital and Social Media Marketing for Member States travel, tourism, hospitality and destination marketing professionals. The aim to equip them with the skills set required creating high awareness, visibility and demand for the destinations, services and products.
The Seminar’s programme has been specifically structured to focus on current trends, best practices and case studies in Digital and Social Marketing. It aims to guide delegates on how to create innovative and cost effective Digital and Social Media Marketing strategies with action plans that can be employed to gain competitive advantage for their destinations, products, facilities and businesses.
Experts at the Seminar will share knowledge, competencies, tools and resources required to meet the current and future demands of the Digital economy with key focus on destination marketing, travel, tourism and hospitality. Some of the key speakers include Ms. Tara Turkington, CEO at Flow Communications, Kwakye Donkor, Marketing and Communications Director at RETOSA and key representatives from Facebook, Twitter, Google, Expedia, WAYN.com and RETOSA Member States. By the end of the Seminar, delegates will gain a clear understanding of the value of Digital and Social Media Marketing and why this is a vital component of the overall marketing strategy for all Destination Marketing Organisations, tourism establishments and the entire tourism value chain.
