REUNION TOURISM SHOWCASES THE ISLAND IN BELGIUM AND SWITZERLAND
(Posted 28th March 2014)
Reunion’s tourism industry, led by Ile de la Reunion Tourisme, the island’s tourism office, are once again working on their European markets, this week in Belgium, where in conjunction with tour operator ‘Rainbow’ they held two seminars for travel agents in Flanders and Wallonia. IRT, together with Air Austral, the island’s home airline and the LUX ***** Resort on 25th and 27th gave the participants all the relevant information, of how to get to the island with Air Austral via Paris and what visitors can then expect in terms of beach resorts, foremost of course the LUX***** but also about active adventure holidays. On an interesting side note, perhaps only done in Belgium, was it reportedly possible for ladies in attendance to also get their hair done at the same time while listening to the presentations – clearly multitasking at its very best.
From Belgium does IRT move on to Switzerland to attend the Salon Envol | Voyages & Evasion at the airport in Geneva, where a tourism trade show takes place on the 30th of March. Last year over 20.000 visitors from the greater Geneva area came to see what was on offer by airlines, tour operators and of course destinations and as a first time attendee will Reunion no doubt receive extra attention from the crowds, keen to learn more about this French Indian Ocean island with a that unique Creole blend only found in this part of the world.
Reunion is a founder member of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands organization. For more details about the island’s attractions click on www.reunion.fr
