This year’s World Travel Market (WTM) Africa, taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), will bring some of the most prominent exhibitors and professionals within the hospitality, travel and tourism industry together, and Reunion Island Tourism Board is set to take centre stage.
Located in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar and 175 kilometres southwest of Mauritius, Reunion Island is a region of France and is known for its remarkable diversity of landscapes and cultures. According to UNESCO, 40% of Reunion Island’s territory is classified as a World Heritage Site, providing a wonderful mix of authentic cultures and wild nature. Furthermore the island is renowned for its volcanic, rain forested interior, offshore reefs, and adventure activities.
“It is important for us to engage and be active participants in initiatives such as WTM Africa which allows us to begin conversations with the aim of harnessing strategic trade relationships and raise the profile for our unique destination. Travel trade professionals will have the opportunity to meet and interact at WTM Africa with the Reunion Island Tourism board and Reunion hospitality delegation from Diana Dea Lodge, Connections, LUX* , Mille Tours, Yes we can travel, and Odysée. An interactive presentation will be given in the Outbound Theatre at WTM Africa on 19 April at 15h30, and all who are interested in the destination are encouraged to attend this session. In addition, an exclusive workshop is being held on 18 April, at the Cullinan Hotel, where the Reunion Island delegation and the tourism board has invited their top tour operators and partners to join them to engage in educational sessions about this ultimate Indian Ocean Island destination.

WTM Africa, one of the most sought after events of the region was launched in 2014 with the aim of bringing the benefits and opportunities of global industry expertise to travel professionals in the region.
